Testimony - Education in Gaza
Learning is a daily struggle for survival.
Hello everyone!
Today, I want to talk about the reality of education in Gaza, where learning is not just difficult, it is a daily struggle for survival.
Students face constant challenges, such as the lack of electricity, weak or no internet, and the absence of basic resources like books and study materials.
Many schools and universities have been destroyed or turned into shelters, forcing the students to study in unsafe or temporary places.
Instead of standing in school lines every morning, students now stand long, exhausting lines just to get water.
Instead of focusing on their lessons, they are thinking about survival.
In addition, frequent displacement makes it hard for students to continue their education or stay focused.
Living in crowded conditions and dealing with fear, stress, and psychological trauma deeply affect their ability to learn.
University students also struggle with online learning because they cannot afford devices or stable internet connection. While power cuts lasting for hours make studying almost impossible.
Poverty is another major challenge, as many students are forced to work or even drop out to support their families.
Despite all these difficulties, students in Gaza continue to fight for their education.
They keep learning, they keep dreaming, and they hope, because education for them is not just a right, it is their only way to get a better future.
